First look: Modern Combat 2

I might be Gameloft’s harshest critic, but I’m also their biggest fan. There is no denying that these guys make the best games for Android, but we have so far been disappointed that few have made their way to the official Android Market. I have a feeling that will change real soon, but in the mean time we just have to accept that you can only purchase Gameloft’s games via their online store.

Gameloft’s Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus just went live today and you can grab it now for only $4.99. This is the sequel to my all-time favorite, first person shooter game on Android and it surpasses the original in every way possible. I’ve only been playing it a couple of days and I’m not even half way through yet, but MC2 offers some of the best graphics and gameplay elements of any Android game to date.

If you are a first person shooter fan and own a Samsung Galaxy S, then Modern Combat 2 is a must buy. Other high-end phones like the Droid 2, Droid X, myTouch 4G, and G2 should play the game fine, but the best gameplay experience right now is on Samsung phones.

From now until February 3rd, if you buy Modern Combat 2 from the Gameloft Android Store using the special promotional link below you can download another game absolutely free.

Update: The buy-one-get-one free promo is only for UK customers. Visit gameloft.com from you phone to see what current promos are going on for your current country.

    …Gameloft wants money.
I’m not seeing a problem with a company wanting money.
As for the 1 time download thing, well, there have been many posts around the webs of people re-downloading their games and overall having good experiences with them.
I really can’t blame them from keeping it from the market either. Even Google has admitted the market has problems, which they do intend to fix, but Gameloft is doing what they need to do which includes having a few games on the market to see what’s going on there too.

Stop being such a drama queen. If your moving to a new device just email or call them and they will send you new copies of the game.

When I entered gameloft.com into my browser it recognized my device as a desire z and had a list of compatible games, at the top (header) there was a simple box for the promo.

    Hope that helps

Taylor, I know one reason behind the delay is the fragmation.

Do you think there’s any reason for the delayed launches besides the fragmation?
